The BOX ELDER TREE
Once there lived a great old box elder tree. Its limbs and branches were bent, and its skin - the bark - was hard and gnarled and filled with grey and black wrinkles. For a long time it stood above a dusty and rocky landscape where no children ever played, it's branches stretched out in all directions to catch the sun. But one day, the earth movers and tractors came, put up a wall and created a children's playground right next to it with slides and colors and ladders to climb on. So the children came and played under it's shady leaves and called the space a park.
