Schoolyard Spring Cleanup: Saturday April 30, 2016
Weeding, shoveling, picking up trash and shed reorganizing turned out to be
the tasks of the day ...
the tasks of the day ...
Volunteers Kyleigh K, Dan G and Sherlie V from Boston Cares and Everett parents Azure M and Nancy K worked together to add mulch to a bare spot near the front entrance of the school using shovels and buckets to carry the mulch from a large pile on the street to the front of the school. 3rd grader Michaela captured the process in photos.
By noon, the long sleeves were off and Dan G had tackled the faux raspberry thorns while Kyleigh K and Everett parent Lilian V, along with her son Coung, worked on some micro weeding above the play equipment.
Sherlie V, Azure M and Jeff F hauled in more of that mulch in order to cover the lower beds above the blacktop while teacher Sara G finished filling up the new teacher shed.
Many thanks to Saturday's volunteers, the school community owes you ...
